1Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement (NCODA)
Background:
With the rapid expansion of Network of Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement (NCODA’s) membership, there was a growing need to effectively engage oncology professionals in initiatives that advance patient-centered care. In response, the Professional Educators Network (PEN) was created to centralize opportunities and foster meaningful collaboration among members. PEN serves as a dynamic platform where oncology professionals can contribute to NCODA’s mission through a variety of roles. These include resource development, public speaking, clinical survey participation, authorship of Positive Quality Interventions (PQIs), and involvement in NCODA committees. The network enhances the reach and impact of member expertise, ultimately improving the quality of cancer care delivery.
Objectives:
Describe the purpose, structure, and engagement opportunities of NCODA’s PEN.
Significance:
Upon joining PEN, participants complete a brief survey detailing their professional background, interests, and preferred areas of involvement. This information enables NCODA to match members with relevant opportunities as they arise. The need for such a system became apparent with NCODA’s growing volume of initiatives and the desire to better harness the talents of its diverse membership. Its structure allows for flexibility in participation, making it accessible to individuals at varying levels of professional capacity. PEN empowers NCODA members to advance their careers while giving back to the oncology community. By aligning individual expertise with organizational needs, PEN supports both personal and professional development. This model enhances engagement and drives innovation in oncology pharmacy practice; truly supporting the mission and vision of the Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement.
