Nursing Community Gathering – November 2026

This month’s Nursing Community Gathering explores whole-person cancer care and how nurses can turn their ideas and experiences into abstracts and posters.

Supportive Cancer Care: Better Care, Better Outcomes – Susan Hedlund, LCSW, FAOSW, Director of Supportive Care Initiatives at Together for Supportive Cancer Care, will introduce supportive cancer care and how it addresses the broader impacts of cancer and treatment. She’ll discuss how it differs from palliative care, efforts to expand access, and the evidence supporting its value for patients and health systems.

From Idea to Submission: Creating a Standout Abstract & Poster – Daisy Doan, PharmD (NCODA), will walk through the key elements of a strong abstract, share tips for getting started, and explore how everyday nursing experiences, innovative practices, and patient care successes can become poster presentations.
