Cost Comparison of First-Line EGFR-mutated NSCLC Treatment

Date: July 21, 2026 | 2:00 PM

As new first-line treatment options emerge for EGFR-mutated NSCLC, oncology teams are increasingly weighing not only clinical outcomes, but also the broader cost implications of treatment selection.

Jose Tinajero, PharmD, BCOP (City of Hope), and Jorge J. Nieva, MD (Keck School of Medicine of USC & USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center), will review a cost-of-care analysis comparing osimertinib plus platinum-pemetrexed chemotherapy with intravenous and subcutaneous amivantamab plus lazertinib for patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR-mutated NSCLC.

This session will explore what contributes to first-year costs and how economic analyses can provide additional context when evaluating evolving treatment strategies.

You’ll learn about:

  • The current first-line treatment landscape for EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
  • What contributes to the total first-year cost of care beyond drug acquisition.
  • How first-year costs compare across the evaluated treatment strategies.
  • How to interpret the findings within the context and limitations of the economic model.
