About Kristen

Kristen Detweiler Short is a Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of oncology experience. She began her career in oncology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester as a Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner for more than 10 years before moving to University of Michigan’s Rogel Cancer Center. She has volunteered time as a family nurse practitioner for under-served women in Detroit through Say Detroit. Kristen currently serves as the Director of Program Development & Strategy at NCODA, leading initiatives that enhance oncology care and patient outcomes. With over a decade at Takeda Oncology, including roles in Sales Strategy, Innovation, and Communication, Kristen believes in being a bridge between pharmaceutical companies and health care for providers to drive patient-centered care and positive outcomes. Beyond her work in oncology, she is a strong advocate for women’s health as the Co-Founder of Haven Homes of Detroit, a non-profit that provides safe housing for survivors of human trafficking. Passionate about leadership, strategy, and advocacy, I leverage my diverse experience to create meaningful change in both the healthcare and non-profit sectors. I hold a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Minnesota and a BSN from Goshen College.
